"I’ve been working at backdoor New Plymouth for roughly 2 months now and my experience in that time has been amazing. One of the big reasons I even wanted to get a job here was due to the location (right in the middle of town which I like) and the fun atmosphere that it offered. Since this is my first job, learning the logistics of a workplace has definitely come with challenges. But luckily the team has been super supportive and patient with me while I learn the ropes. I really do love the overall atmosphere of the store, it’s a job where I don’t dread having to work the next day because I know that where I am is sick. " Ezra, New Plymouth Crew

"A key highlight I can take away from working at here at Backdoor for the last two years is the positive workplace culture and environment that we work in. Thus, significantly motivated me in a way that I was able to build stronger relationships with both the customers and employees of which work with me, it was always a fun and inviting experience that I thoroughly enjoyed". "I first started working at Backdoor as a Part time Retail Assistant, being paid to discuss my passion (surfing & surfboards) was a dream and when an opportunity to progress to full time arose, I jumped on it, I've been managing one of our largest core stores now for over 10 years. Working at Backdoor has helped me to develop my skills as a manager but more so has taught me the importance of building and maintaining relationships with customers, staff and suppliers, many of whom I now call friends. Through the store I've met people from all over the world, but all have one thing in common, a love of surfing (or skating) and the opportunity to talk with them is one of the things that makes working in store so enjoyable. I think what I like most about Backdoor as a company is its authenticity, while its grown 3 fold since I began, it's stayed true to its roots as a genuine surf shop and set out to be one of the best, with the largest range of hardware NZ wide, great service and knowledgeable staff, I'm stoked to be part of it! If you want to be a part of the surf/skate industry, Backdoor offers many opportunities in a fun supportive environment and is great place to start 🙂 Aaron, Barry's Point Road Manager
